Città della Pieve is an Umbrian town situated on hill at 508 m a.s.l. that dominates Valdichiana and the Trasimeno Lake, on the border between Umbria and Tuscany and not far from the Lazio region: in other words in the middle of central Italy. The hill is similar to a plateau. Under the geological aspect the area is extremely interesting and full of fossils. This area was the delta of the river Tiber that flowed into the ancient Valdichiana sea.

The countryside reminds the scenery immortalized by this area’s most famous native, PIETRO VANNUCCI, aka “Il Perugino”, whose paintings clearly depict how he was inspired by his land of origin.
